Lose Fat, Preserve Muscle, and Look SEXY with 4 Simple Tips!

We all want the quick and easy solution (who doesn’t?). When asked, these are always the four things I recommend to anyone struggling to make or see a change.

Try them out. You’ll be impressed with the results!

 

  1. EAT CARBS ONLY AT NIGHT.

This is huge and a concept in which so many struggle due to incorrect conventional wisdom. It doesn’t have to be every night (the less active you are, the fewer carbs you should eat), but when you do eat carbs, keep them at night. No matter what your fitness goals include, you should only be eating carbohydrates at night.  In doing so, you will sleep better and stimulate hormones to help you lose fat while you sleep.

 

 

 

 

  1. DITCH THE LOW-GLYCEMIC, WHOLE GRAIN CARBS.

You’ll hear many good-intention folks recommend whole grain, whole wheat, low-glycemic products. Do not listen to them. Having a steady, slow stream of sugar released into your bloodstream (which happens after eating these types of carbs) will derail the benefits of your health goals. At night, when eating carbs, stick with high glycemic, quickly-released carbs (sticky white rice, skinless potatoes, squashes, fruit, etc…)

 

 

 

 

  1. EAT WHOLE FOODS.

Your body is only as good as the materials in which it has to rebuild. Meaning, if you feed it junk, it has to use that junk to generate your body’s new cells. Whole foods (grass-fed meats, whole eggs, fresh vegetables)  contain intact nutrients your cells crave. Plus all the natural fats in these foods will enhance the absorption of many vital fat-soluble nutrients.

 

 

 

 

  1. DROP YOUR STEADY-STATE CARDIO ROUTINES.

Whether you are bicycling, running, ellipticaling, whatever….stop doing it!  It is impeding your fat loss and fitness goals. It causes stress to your body, which in turn releases cortisol, which then helps you stay soft and flabby.  If you are wanting to melt fat while gaining endurance, try a HIIT, a Tabata, or The Ultimate Dumbbell Matrix (once or twice per week).

 

 

 

 

With just these four simple key steps, you’ll shred that stubborn fat and feel awesome in your swimsuit!
