My boys love to eat hand-held foods. End of story. So naturally as a mom who wants her kids to love healthy food, I started brainstorming ways of making healthy foods fun, hand-held and roll-able! I found a few easy, healthy items at Costco, Gordons, and Aldi and made them into a super simple easy Paleo sandwich roll-up that takes about 1 minute to make…seriously. No cooking involved, only placing items on top of each other. My boys got such a kick out of these, even I was surprised.
My 6-yr-old LOVES all veggies including salad green; however, my 4-yr-old doesn’t care much for the texture of greens and takes more convincing to eat them. I guess, that is unless it is rolled up in cute sandwich roll. Then, well, then he thinks it tastes like heaven. This roll-up and snack and/or lunch idea was so simple and so quick and easy, I just had to do a short post on how easy it is to get kids to enjoy healthy food by just rolling it up (or making it “seem” fun for them)!
Bread-free Paleo Sandwich Roll Up
Ingredients:
- Sliced Ham (any sliced meat will do)
- Cream Cheese (or any cheese)
- Spinach (or any green)
Directions:
1. Lay out the meat so that is it flat on a plate.
2. Spread the cream cheese over the meat.
3. Layer with the spinach.
4. Roll up! These even store nicely in the fridge for easy snack access.
Quick, healthy, and easy….and my boys were in heaven.
